Our founder John Ladbury spent many years running his own successful carpentry company before being commissioned to create his first bespoke kitchen back in 1978. After that, John never looked back. His eye for detail and skilled craftsmanship earned the company an outstanding reputation, enabling us to grow from modest beginnings into the thriving family business you see today. Now happily retired, John’s sons David and Stephen manage the company. They have been part of the team for over twenty years and are fully committed to upholding the traditional values John based the business on.
At John Ladbury, all our kitchens are truly bespoke. Our experienced designers take great care to tailor every detail of your new interior to your unique requirements. We then hand over to our Hatfield workshop or specialist German partners to bring your vision to life. A passion for perfection underpins everything we do, from the superior materials we use to the meticulous service we provide. Stephen has been part of the family business since leaving school when John and Steve were a father and son two man band. He oversees the production of our bespoke furniture and project manages the contract work for City and Country who specialise in sympathetically restoring and converting heritage buildings.
David spent his first fifteen years in the manufacturing and installation side of the business, moving on to the design and sales side of the operation twenty years ago giving him a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of the business.
Amanda has been a valuable member of our design team since the business expanded some years ago. Amanda studied art and design and has a keen eye for trends, fashion and colours and is always happy to put together a mood board for your particular project.
We have a wonderful, spacious studio situated on the outskirts of Hatfield, in Welham Green. Our beautiful, two-storey showroom is the ideal place to explore our collection, meet our team, and learn more about how we could help with your project.
